I stumbled across this record one night while hosting WNCW's ARC Overnight. The album is Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike, and the group is called Gogol Bordello. They blend together a unique mixture of dub, punk and traditional Romanian Gypsy music. It wasn't until recently that I was reminded of the group via the film Wristcutters: A Love Story. The groups odd music seemed eerily normal as the soundtrack for the film. I can't recreate the film in one short paragraph, but this video does well to capture the insanity that is Gogol Bordello.
